2 cups flour
                    ¼ cup wheat germ
                    2 teaspoons baking powder
                    2 teaspoons cinnamon
                    
                    1 teaspoon salt
                    ½ teaspoon nutmeg
                    
                    4 cups diced peeled tart cooking apples (4 large)
                    1 cup granulated sugar
                    1 cup packed brown sugar
                    ½ cup oil
                    2 eggs, well beaten
                    1 teaspoon vanilla
                
                
                
                    - Stir together flour, wheat germ, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg: set aside.
 
                    - In large bowl combine apples, sugars, oil, eggs and vanilla.
 
                    - Add flour mixture; stir gently with wooden spoon to blend well.
 
                    - Turn into greased 9x13 baking pan.
 
                    - Bake in preheated 350°F oven 50 minutes or until cake pulls away from sides of pan.
 
                    - Cool in pan on rack.
 
                    - Cut into pieces.
